Asharqia Chamber will organize the "Environment Forum 2020" under the slogan "A sustainable healthy environment" next Monday
Under the slogan "Towards a sustainable healthy environment", the "Environment Forum 2020" will be launched next Monday (28 / September / 2020 corresponding to 11 / Safar / 1442) organized by the Asharqia Chamber represented by the Environment Committee, under the generous patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Governor of the Eastern Province, discusses a number of issues related to environmental health, its concepts and new in this regard.
The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Asharqia Chamber, Abdul Hakim bin Hamad Al-Ammar Al-Khalidi, praised the generous sponsorship of this event by His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Governor of the Eastern Province, who made us accustomed to his keenness and follow-up on these activities, which reflects His Highness’s interest in all the Chamber’s activities and the activities of the private sector As well as his highness’s interest in all issues of concern to the economy, society and people in this generous country.
Participation of officials
The forum, which is held (via visual communication), was described by Al-Khalidi as another step and a new initiative within the orientations of the Asharqia Chamber to support the quality of public life stipulated in the vision of the Kingdom 2030, as it thus reflects the Asharqia Chamber's keenness to deal with everything new in this vital and important topic given the importance of the environment issue to public life, and economic life in particular.
Al-Khalidi explained that the forum will witness the participation of an elite group of experts and specialists in environmental issues, combating desertification, and supporting efforts to preserve wildlife, including official government officials concerned with this matter .. noting that the issue of the environment is one of the topics of importance, not only at the local level. Rather, it is a global issue that is being discussed by governments, institutions, and international organizations, by virtue of its direct relationship to human health and life, so it was one of the most important topics discussed by the United Nations organizations, and the G20 summits (and the Kingdom is one of the highest economic group) in the world.
Forum program
In this regard, Chairman of the Environment Committee of the Asharqia Chamber, Talal bin Sultan Al-Rasheed, said that the forum will be held in three sessions, (an opening session, with two dialogue sessions). During the opening session, His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Prince of the Eastern Region, will speak. While the first dialogue session deals with the first axis, which is: “The role of regulations and legislations in environmental sustainability,” while the second topic (in the second session) deals with the issue of “desertification and ways to combat it, enhancing wildlife and its impact on preserving the environment,” all of that based on The topics are interconnected with each other. The promotion of wildlife depends - in some aspects - on increasing the green area and reducing the area of desertification.
Based on that - according to the Chairman of the Environment Committee - the forum discusses under the first axis (and in the first session) several topics under the title of the session, several topics, most notably: “Environmental legislation and its impact on environmental sustainability, environmental agreements at the international level, and the reality and prospects of environmental systems in their development in the Kingdom. And the impact of applying these regulations on the private sector, "with a focus on the impact of the Corona crisis on the environment sector in general.
Environment strategy
In this context, the acting head of the General Authority of Meteorology and Environment, Eng. Ali bin Saeed Al-Ghamdi, and the Director-General of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture Branch in the Eastern Region, Eng. Amer bin Ali Al-Mutairi will speak during this session. The session will be chaired by the Chairman of the Environment Committee of the Asharqia Chamber, Talal bin Sultan Al-Rasheed.
As for the second session, the forum deals with “the mechanisms and applications of the national environment strategy, the concept of desertification, the demonstration and the mechanisms of dealing with it,” in addition to “the Kingdom's experience in developing wildlife.” During this session, the CEO of the National Center for Wildlife Development, Dr. Mohamed bin Ali will speak Kurban, and the CEO of the National Center for the Development of Vegetation Cover and Combating Desertification, Dr. Khaled Al-Abdullah Al-Abd Al-Qadir, and this session is chaired by the Coordinator of the Environmental Science Committee in the Former Earth Sciences Department at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals.
